Het Stichting Surinaams Museum, opgericht in 1947, is de hoeder van het culturele en historische erfgoed van Suriname. Gevestigd in het iconische Fort Zeelandia vertelt het museum het verhaal van Suriname door de ogen van haar mensen, van inheemse wortels en koloniale geschiedenis tot migratie, verzet en culturele diversiteit. Met een unieke collectie objecten, kunst en archieven bewaart en presenteert het museum meer dan drie eeuwen Surinaamse geschiedenis. Het is een plek van herinnering, dialoog en identiteit, waar verleden, heden en toekomst elkaar ontmoeten.
